David A. Schadler

David A. Schadler, 77, of Kutztown, died August 6, 2012, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where he was a patient one day. He was the widower of Janet P. (Peterson) Schadler, who died November 13, 2007. Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Anna L. K. (Kern) Schadler.

He was a member of Saint Pauls United Church of Christ, Kutztown. David was a veteran of the PA Army National Guard. Mr. Schadler was employed as a cabinet maker at Quaker Maid Kitchens, Leesport, for over 25 years until his retirement in 1998. David was a member and Trustee of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton and its Honor Guard.

Survivors: Daughter, Kathleen M. (Schadler) Oakes; son, Kenneth A. husband of Donna B. (Border) Schadler, both of Topton. Other survivors include sisters, Elaine A. (Schadler) widow of Lawrence S. Seaman and Catherine A. (Schadler) wife of Ronald R. Miller, both of Kutztown; brother Dennis P. husband of Hope P. (Grim) Schadler, Mertztown. There are also grandchildren, Kelsey J., Leah M. and Brooke N. Schadler. He was predeceased by two granddaughters, Theresa M. and Kristina M. Frymoyer.

Services: Funeral services were held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown, with Reverend John W. Davies officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors performed by Ray A. Master Post #217, American Legion Honor Guard, was held Monday, August 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA.
